A new spin on iconic songs
In the summer of 2020, German rock legend Marius Müller-Westernhagen performs in the intimate atmosphere of selected concert halls, opera houses and theatres, and presents his new album „Das Pfefferminz-Experiment“ („The Peppermint Experiment“), wherein he puts a new spin on the songs of his iconic album „Mit Pfefferminz bin ich dein Prinz“ („With a mint, I am your prince“).
„With a mint, I am your prince“
Forty years ago, Marius Müller-Westernhagen recorded the straightforward album „Mit Pfefferminz bin ich dein Prinz“ („With a mint, I am your prince“) about realistic people: poor Klaus, prostitute Margarethe, the lover who bids his Peter goodbye but is already quite comfortable with Giselher. It’s an album about the obese, alcoholics and a frustrated musician sitting in front of expensive paper. It’s an album that constituted an unique career in 1978.
The essence of legendary songs
For „Das Pfefferminz-Experiment“ („The Peppermint Experiment“), Marius Müller-Westernhagen went back to the roots in the legendary Dreamland Studios in Woodstock and reinterpreted the songs from his hit album. And some of the songs may have found their true self just now.
