Germany’s largest touring theatre
The Deutsches Theater is the musical theatre of the city of Munich. Whether immortal classics from Broadway and London’s West End, brand new plays or international shows from all over the world: as Germany’s largest guest performance theatre, the Deutsches Theater provides a varied programme of the highest artistic standard. In addition to popular musicals and shows, the year-round programme also includes concerts, variety, ballet and contemporary dance as well as plays for children and young people.
In addition to the main stage, the traditional Munich theatre also offers a diverse programme in the magnificent Silbersaal and Barocksaal, which has been preserved in its original form from 1896, ranging from smaller musical productions and concerts to readings, exhibitions and cabaret programmes. Since the 2023 season, World Music, singer/songwriters, classical salon concerts and dance evenings have had their own permanent home here.
