Janosch: Oh, wie schön ist Panama
“How wonderful,” said the little tiger, “to have a friend who can build a raft. Then you don’t need to be afraid of anything.” Since 1978, Janosch’s popular children’s book Oh, How Beautiful Panama Is has been taking adventurers young and old on an incredible journey around the world—and showing them what really matters in life. The interactive musical of the same name is now delighting families with children aged five and up at the Deutsches Theater for the fifth time.
DORIAN GRAY
With Dorian Gray, we present one of three German premieres with the Limonada Dance Company. The production is based on Oscar Wilde’s novel The Picture of Dorian Gray, which was published in 1890 and is considered a manifesto of aestheticism.
Der Grüffelo
You can never be too young or too old for The Gruffalo. This applies to Julia Donaldson and Axel Scheffler’s wonderful picture book as well as to the stage version of the story. The Gruffalo has thrilled well over a million visitors in this production in England and around the world. The Junges Theater Bonn produced the German-language premiere of the musical for children aged 3 and up and has been staging the play with enormous success since 2010.
Die drei ??? – Im Auge des Sturms
They are the three young detectives Justus Jonas, Peter Shaw, and Bob Andrews, the most successful and popular detective trio in world literature. Robert Arthur conceived the first story in 1964 and won Alfred Hitchcock as a “patron” for the first books. With Im Auge des Sturms (In the Eye of the Storm), the Junges Theater Bonn is staging a particularly exciting play for children aged 10 and up.

SIX THE MUSICAL
The internationally acclaimed musical is back in Germany: SIX is a global phenomenon and a brilliant fusion of musical, pop concert and history! The most royal girl group of all time takes to the microphone – because the six wives of England’s Tudor King Henry VIII have some spicy stories to tell. The queens turn back the clock and tell their stories of love, loss, their tragic demise and the questionable ex they all have in common in an 80-minute concert battle. Each of them is inspired by a modern pop icon such as Beyoncé, Adele or Ariana Grande.
Sister Act
Brothers and sisters – sing Hallelujah! The heavenly musical based on the cult film of the same name returns to our stage. When disco diva Deloris suddenly has to go into hiding in a convent, two worlds collide: with her groove, she whirls the church choir around, strikes a whole new note, and causes divine chaos. Mary Robert, Mary Lazarus, and Deloris dance on stage to hits such as “Show Me Heaven,” “Sing to Heaven,” “The World I Never Saw,” and “Let Love In,” and the audience sways along. A heavenly delight!
Die Weiße Rose
“You have to have a strong mind and a soft heart,” Sophie Scholl wrote in a letter shortly before her arrest. Together with her brother, she was part of the White Rose resistance movement during the Nazi era. Vera Bolten (book, director) and Alex Melcher (book, music) have created a gripping musical based on the story of this resistance movement, which premiered in Munich on our stage in 2025. It went on to win a total of seven German Musical Theater Awards. Now it returns to the place where the story began.
Der Fall Wagner
In his new dance piece Der Fall Wagner (The Wagner Case), Enrique Gasa Valga analyzes the controversial and fascinating figure of Richard Wagner with the utmost respect and curiosity. His ballet focuses on key moments that shaped the life and artistic work of the legendary composer, writer, and conductor. The Limonada Dance Company brings this historical figure back to the stage. Der Fall Wagner
all you need is love!
The rousing musical biography All You Need Is Love! brings the legendary live performances of the Beatles back to where they belong: on stage.
The musical features the perfectly synchronized doppelgangers of the Beatles: the quartet Twist & Shout from Las Vegas sings and plays as if the Fab Four were standing on our stage in person. Authentic costumes and video recordings complete the illusion: join us on a journey back to the time when the Beatles churned out one global hit after another.
Zauberflöte
Award-winning composer Frank Nimsgern has teamed up with director Benjamin Sahler and Aino Laos to create a thrilling musical. With magnificent modern songs and clever references to the famous opera, this revised production once again bridges the gap between eras and connects people of all ages.
CARMEN
All good things come in threes, as the saying goes. And in this case, the saying couldn’t be more apt. With the dance production of Carmen, we are celebrating one of the most famous couples in world literature and, together with the great choreographer Enrique Gasa Valga and his Limonada Dance Company, the third German premiere in 2026.
FACK JU GÖHTE – Das Musical

Now even wilder, bolder, and more musical than ever before!
Disney Der Glöckner von Notre Dame
A timeless masterpiece returns to the stage: Disney’s The Hunchback of Notre Dame tells the moving story of the disfigured Quasimodo, who grows up hidden high above the rooftops of Paris—far away from the world, yet longing for it. In October 2026, we will present the new German-language production by the Budapest Operetta Theater on our stage for the first time.
Romeo & Julia
The acclaimed hit musical by Peter Plate and Ulf Leo Sommer is finally coming to Munich. Over 400,000 audience members have already been enchanted by it at Berlin’s Theater des Westens, where this radically new, poetic, and emotional version of the world’s most famous love story is causing a sensation. Because Romeo and Juliet has never been told like this before. Juliet has never been so passionate, so fearless, so contemporary. Romeo has never been so vulnerable. Verona has never been so dangerous—and so seductive. What makes this version of the classic so special is that it is performed in the historical Schlegel translation of Shakespeare’s original text. The music? An interplay of new pop songs and emotional arias – full of longing, tempo, and power. And right in the middle of it all is the “Rosenstolz” hit that gives the show its title: Love is everything.
