King D, Sascha Kommer, Chris Aron and The Croakers bring Buddy Holly’s greatest hits and selected numbers by Ritchie Valens and The Big Bopper to the stage with authenticity and passion. From gentle pop ballads to wild rockabilly tunes, the concert show takes you through the musical legacy of one of the greatest rock’n’rollers of the 50s.
The Day The Music Died
On February 3, 1959, Buddy Holly, Ritchie Valens and The Big Bopper died in a plane crash near Mason City on their way to their next gig in Moorhead. In memory of these three exceptional talents, Munich musician Chris Aron, together with his band The Croakers, Viennese singer King D and gifted pianist Sascha Kommer, is now rocking the stage for the fourth time with A Tribute To Buddy Holly.
From “Oh boy to “Rave on”
The idea for the show was born in the summer of 2018, when King D performed a Buddy Holly tribute in the Silbersaal as part of the supporting program for The Elvis Presley Tribute Show, which was also conceived by Chris Aron, and was met with great enthusiasm by the audience. A full-length show of his own was the logical consequence. In addition to Buddy Holly’s greatest hits such as “That’ll be the day”, “Not fade away”, “It’s so easy”, “Oh boy”, “True love ways” and “Rave on”, guests can also look forward to one or two numbers by Ritchie Valens and The Big Bopper.
