After the great success in April 2023, the ultimate musical for all rock fans comes back to Munich. The soundtrack of Rock of Ages consists of the greatest power ballads and rock anthems of the 80s, such as “Here I Go Again” by Whitesnake, “The Final Countdown” by Europe, “I Want To Know What Love Is” by Foreigner, and many more. Rockers like Doro Pesch, Dan Lucas and the Killerpilze were enthusiastic at the premiere in Munich. But it’s not just the music, which is crammed onto the stage with power and pathos, that makes this show a spectacular show. Rock of Ages also impresses with a lot of humor and self-irony.

Rock of Ages is a live spectacle that doesn’t take itself too seriously and is guaranteed to leave out no cliché of the unmistakable 80s. Love story or rocking homage, musical or parody? Rock of Ages is simply everything and definitely too much of each. The audience experiences real rockers, a wacky live band and the attitude towards life of an era that was really sexy. Over 25 legendary world hits will make the Deutsches Theater shake again for a week in May 2024.

Anyway You Want It – That`s The Way You Need it!

Rock of Ages is set in 1980s Los Angeles: studded belts and ripped jeans rule the legendary Bourbon Room rock club on the infamous Sunset Strip. This is where small-town girl Sherrie meets big-city boy Drew – but the love story between the naive waitress and the serene bartender fails before it has even begun. Because the city wants to clean up the Sunset Strip – the existence of the “Bourbon Room” is threatened. A benefit concert by the successful rock band “Arsenal” is supposed to bring money into the empty coffers of the club operator. But with the appearance of the eccentric lead singer Stacee Jaxx the disaster takes its course…

Since its acclaimed Broadway premiere, Rock of Ages has embarked on its unprecedented triumphal march around the world. Even Hollywood could not resist the charm of this pure rock nostalgia: Stars like Tom Cruise, Catherine Zeta-Jones and Alec Baldwin succumbed to the electric guitar frenzy and conquered the screens with the film adaptation in 2012.
