A Trip down Memory Lane
The Theaterakademie August Everding (Bavarian Theater Academy August Everding) has been enriching the programme in our historic Silbersaal (silver hall) with unusucal productions since 2015. After great productions like Into The Woods, John & Jen, Tell Me On A Sunday as well as I Love You, You’re Perfect, Now Change, they now present a piece that was specifically developed for the Masterclass series: with Palast des Lächelns: Musik und Geschichten aus dem Deutschen Theater (Palace of Smiles: music and stories from the Deutsches Theater), we put our own history on our stage.
In search for traces
The Deutsches Theater has been an important influence on the theatre life of Munich for over 120 years. Glamerous ball nights, revuews, variety shows and operettas are just as much at home here as worldwide musical hits, intimate Off-productions and concerts. The Masterclass students search for traces of long-gone moments and bring old but still lively (musical) spirits back to life.
