Charity Concert
On the occasion of Hugo Strasser's 100th birthday
CONCERT FOR A GOOD CAUSE
On April 7th, Hugo Strasser would have celebrated his 100th birthday. He played a major role in shaping our traditional ball season for decades. In his honor, his orchestra will give a concert in the great theatre hall in May. On the occasion of the current situation it will be a charity concert for the people in Ukraine. Like the income from the München huift event and the money raised during the musical guest performances of Rocky Horror Show and Die Päpstin, the proceeds from this concert will also go to the donation account specially set up by the city. You can find more information about that here.
Tickets for the charity concert We swing for Ukraine are available for 25,00 €, 50,00 €, or 75,00 €. The price is not bound to a particular seat or category. Rather, customers decide for themselves what contribution they want to make.
FINALLY LIVE ON STAGE AGAIN
The performance of the Hugo Strasser Orchestra under the musical direction of Bernhard Ullrich is also very special for another reason. Because, as in the past two years, our ball season planned for 2022 had to be cancelled due to the pandemic, and with it the performances of the orchestra. Now, fans can finally enjoy the music live once again. “Bernhard Ullrich and all the musicians are very happy to finally play in front of an audience on stage again. The fact that we are also supporting a good cause is all the more wonderful,” says orchestra manager Heinrich Haas. And the managing director of the Deutsches Theater, Thomas Linsmayer, says: “The commemoration of a great musician and bandleader as a benefit evening on our stage. That fits together perfectly. Many thanks to all those involved who make this possible.“
