Hot Stuff Jazzband goes Disney
Das Deutsche Theater München presents
Disney classics in jazz guise
Last year, Hot Stuff Jazzband goes Disney got the audience in the sold-out Silbersaal into a lively spring mood. Now they are back: in March, the five musicians around Heinz Dauhrer will once again present well-known Disney songs in new arrangements, with varied timbres and grooves. Let’s swing into spring!
New arrangements by Eric Stevens
The concert is also a tribute to Hot Stuff bassist Eric Stevens, who passed away in September 2022, who rearranged the Disney melodies. Songs such as “A Spoonfull Of Sugar” from Mary Poppins, “Witchcraft” from Roger Rabbit, “Under The Sea” from Ariel, the ballad “Beauty And The Beast” and many more are given a new look with a jazzy drive and a proverbial special touch.
The Hot Stuff Jazzband intersperses genre classics such as Fats Waller’s “Honeysuckle Rose”, “It Don’t Mean A Thing” and songs by Charly Parker. With this concert, the balancing act between the highest musical level and amusing entertainment succeeds with impressive ease. And even if you think you know all the songs inside out, you will be surprised again and again by the interpretations of this top-class quintet.
200 years of stage experience
The Hot Stuff Jazzband is made up of five professionals who have performed on stage with greats such as Udo Lindenberg, Max Greger and Hugo Strasser and have more than 200 years of concert experience between them.

His solos alternate with Butch Kellem on trombone, supported by John Brunton on guitar, Gary Todd on bass and Hermann Roth on drums, who also surprise with sometimes lively, sometimes thoughtful solos. All in all, the Hot Stuff Jazzband presents a sophisticated and amusing program that invites you to dream nostalgically. Our historic Silbersaal provides the stylish setting for this.
