GIUSEPPE MILICI QUARTET PLAYS ENNIO MORRICONE
Special Guest Lorenzo Petrocca
Distinctive harmonica playing
In Italy, everyone knows his music. After all, Giuseppe Milici has been responsible as a composer for numerous popular television programmes since 1983. But the multi-instrumentalist has also made a name for himself in the international music scene, not at least because of his unmistakable harmonica playing.
A tribute to Ennio Morricone
For forty years now, the artist from Palermo has been dealing with the most diverse musical currents. He has worked with dozens of international artists and formations such as Laura Fygi, Toots Thielemans, Gino Paoli, Gigi D’Alessio or the Dirotta su Cuba and has performed on the most prestigious stages in the world. Among them the famous festival in San Remo. The concert in our Silbersaal, which we are realising in cooperation with the Italian Consulate General, is therefore something very special. Having already dedicated himself in the past to the work of his favourite bands and artists The Beatles, Bacharach and Michael Jackson, Milici now brings another great name in music history to life with his harmonica. Together with his quartet, he presents unforgettable titles and themes from the film compositions of Ennio Morricone. The band is supported by the internationally renowned and successful jazz guitarist Lorenzo Petrocca.
