TO THE 40TH OF THE CULT MUSICAL
In 2022, we will again present the joint Masterclass series in the Silbersaal in co-production with the Musical degree program of the August Everding Theater Academy. For the 40th anniversary of The Little Shop of Horrors, an exciting new production of the cult musical is on the program this time.
THE ACT
A flower shop doomed to ruin, a budding love affair and a carnivorous plant become the pawns in a horror story. Seymour, a clerk at the store on Skid Row, really just wants to do the right thing and finally win the love and approval of his life. But when the devilish plant can no longer be satiated even by his own blood, he gets caught in the vortex of evil as a tragic anti-hero and must watch as his self-created success becomes his undoing. A story about love, fate, dreams and human abysses.
THE PRODUCTION
As with Palace of Smiles, Benjamin Truong is directing this new production of the musical by the Oscar-winning duo Alan Menken and Howard Ashman. As always, the staging and stage design have been adapted to the special conditions of the Silver Hall. Visitors can also expect an exciting musical version of the piece, with the singers accompanied by piano and violin.
