The director of the Brüder Grimm Festspiele Hanau Mr. Frank-Lorenz Engel has informed the Deutsches Theater that the mayor Mr. Claus Kaminsky and the magistrate of the city of Hanau have decided to completely cancel the Brüder Grimm Festspiele Hanau 2020. This also eliminates the performances of Das Tapfere Schneiderlein at the Deutsches Theater. The tickets can be returned.
Cheeky fairytale musical
From rags to riches: In the popular fairytale by the Brothers Grimm Das tapfere Schneiderlein (The Brave Little Tailor), a poor tailor is promoted to king. The profound story about courage, skilfulness and virtue is coming to our stage as a cheeky musical adaptation in 2020. With this production, we continue our successful cooperation with the Brüder Grimm Festspiele (Brothers Grimm Festival) in Hanau.
A cunning hero
Trouble with a pair of giants, a wild boar has destroyed the harvest and a unicorn is causing turmoil in the kingdom. So the king declares: Whoever can solve all these problems is going to be the next king and will receive the princess’s hand in marriage. One day, a poor tailor kills seven flies at one blow. Encouraged by that heroic deed, he faces all the king‘s labours – and succeeds, with the aid of deceit, creativity and luck. But a show-off hardly ever conquers the heart of a princess…
