Martin Schmid – Swingtime
The Deutsches Theater München presents
MARTIN SCHMID – SWINGTIME
Premiere
Evergreens and rarities
The guests of our theatre have known Martin Schmid for a long time as a congenial partner of Stefan Leonhardsberger from the joint programmes “Da Billi Jean is ned mei Bua“, “Rauhnacht” or “Die Leonhardsberger & Schmid Show“. Now he is a guest for the first time with his programme Swingtime and presents evergreens and rarities from the swinging songbook of German light music.
When people still trotted the fox
On this evening, Martin Schmid invites you to experience his passion and love for swing. He sings and dances his way through an enjoyable programme full of delicious, evergreen melodies and songs from a time when music was still swinging and people still trotted the Fox. Dusted off, polished up and in HD.
Jazz fans will also get their money’s worth with the rousing solos of his fabulous band, when Daniel Mark Eberhard plays the keys, Walter Bittner stirs the drums, Uli Fiedler plucks the bass and Stephan Holstein plays his way into the hearts of the guests with saxophone and clarinet. For Martin Schmid has learned from the best: as double bass player with Hugo Strasser’s “Hot Five”, he still worked with swing legends like Max Greger or Hazy Osterwald. In his own way, he will carry on their legacy.
