FOAIE VERDE
VIRTUOSO SOUNDS FROM THE BALKANS
A musical firework
The five virtuosos of Foaie Verde fuse traditional music from Eastern Europe and fast-paced Balkan sound with their own compositions and offer their audience an irresistible listening pleasure. Look forward to a musical fireworks display in a class of its own.
With Mulo Francel as host and guest musician
The ensemble around the charismatic singer Katalin Horvath (Hungary) and the violin virtuoso Sebastian Mare (Romania) captures the overwhelming power of this music in their very own, immensely varied arrangements. With Vladimir Trenin (Russia) on bayan, Frank Wekenmann (Germany) on guitar and Veit Hübner (Germany) on double bass, the group is international and top-class. Together, Foaie Verde explores all facets of musical expression and, with impressive stage presence, transports the audience into an ecstatic frenzy of sounds and tones. This time, the band is supported by Mulo Francel, head of the successful formation Quadro Nuevo. He will not only be the host for the evening, but will also be on stage as a guest musician.
On tour with a new album
The band recently released a new album, “Phönix“. Bold rhythms and breathtaking runs on violin, accordion, guitar and double bass meet emotionally charged vocals coming from the depths, clarinet and saxophone, unbridled energy and joie de vivre and alternate with quiet, melancholic sounds. In this way, Foaie Verde succeeds in reproducing the traditional music of the Balkans in an authentic and interesting way, while at the same time freshening it up with new elements.
