Amar\u00e9\u2014the debut album by C\u00e9line Rudolph, Henrique Gomide, and Jo\u00e3o Lu\u00eds Nogueira\u2014presents a bold and poetic vision of what Brazilian jazz might sound like in 2026: intimate, intuitive, and in a constant state of flux. With no drums, the album is driven by vocals, piano, and acoustic guitar.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column width=&#8221;1\/2&#8243;][vc_column_text]<\/p>\n<h3>The Sound of South America<\/h3>\n<p>Brazil is the trio\u2019s shared heartbeat\u2014rhythmic, melodic, spiritual. Yet *Amar\u00e9* is neither a nostalgic throwback nor a stylistic experiment. Gomide plays with the crystalline touch of a classically trained pianist who is at home in the vocabularies of Hermeto Pascoal and Egberto Gismonti. Nogueira\u2019s guitar brings both grounding and lightness to the mix, with lines that bridge Baden Powell and Ralph Towner. And Rudolph\u2019s voice\u2014oscillating between lyricism and improvisation, intimacy and openness\u2014impressively demonstrates why TSF Jazz France calls her a \u201cpearl of European vocal jazz.\u201d Both vocally and compositionally, she uniquely blends Brazilian music, jazz, chanson, and African influences.<\/p>\n<p>[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column][vc_column width=&#8221;1\/2&#8243;][vc_column_text]<\/p>\n<h3>A Love for the Sea<\/h3>\n<p>The name Amar\u00e9 captures this spirit: a mar\u00e9 (the tides) represents the flowing, ever-changing nature of music. Amar \u00e9&#8230; (to love means&#8230;) speaks of devotion, of something that touches us deeply. The sea becomes the trio\u2019s companion on the open waters\u2014a symbol of adventure, playfulness, depth, and universal energy.
