The Grand Christmas Revue
When writer and musician Thorsten Nagelschmidt decided to set parts of his next book Nur für Mitglieder (For Members Only) to music, he teamed up with Berlin musician and producer Lambert to produce an album with depth and wit that transcends genre boundaries. Live in the Silbersaal, they present a unique revue of text, images and music and what is probably the most raucous Christmas party to be experienced this year.
‘Never Again Christmas in Germany’
The result is a firework display of beats, piano capers and wild cascades of lyrics about an all-inclusive hotel in Gran Canaria, 86 hours of The Sopranos in eleven days, origins, family and escaping the annual December depression. The motto and refrain of the first single: ‘Never again Christmas in Germany.’ In the middle of the contemplative Advent season, Nagelschmidt and Lambert go on tour together.
Thorsten Nagelschmidt
The author, musician and artist lives in Berlin and has been part of the band Muff Potter since 1993. In 2007, he published his debut novel, Wo die wilden Maden graben (Where the Wild Maggots Dig). This was followed by further books, most recently the novels Arbeit (Work, 2020) and Soledad (2024).
Lambert
The pianist, composer and producer began his career in 2014. Lambert gained recognition beyond his own albums with a series of ‘reworks’ in which he reinterpreted well-known pieces on the piano and published them on YouTube.
