String Duets of Love

When music begins to flow
A contemporary and deeply personal vision of a fusion of different genres—swing, traditional jazz, blues, and classical music: this is how guitarist Duved Dunayevsky and violinist Federico Zaltron describe their music. The two jazz musicians will present their program String Duets of Love in the Silver Hall.
An extraordinary duo
Duved Dunayevsky and Federico Zaltron first met in Paris around eight years ago. From the outset, it was clear to both musicians that they had a truly unique musical connection. Today, they are increasingly aware of the exceptional nature of this musical relationship. Their shared respect for classical and jazz musical traditions and their common musical aesthetic enable them to create music spontaneously that flows intuitively and constantly surprises both the audience and the musicians themselves.
Deconstructed and improvised
While Duved Dunayevsky is considered the world’s leading expert on Django Reinhardt’s style from the 1930s, Federico Zaltron is one of the most active and renowned jazz violinists on the European swing and traditional jazz scene. Improvisations and variations on motifs from the early 20th-century jazz repertoire form the basis of the concert, as do melodies that were heard on the radio, in musicals, and in dance halls in the 1920s and 1930s. In this concert, these motifs are deconstructed, varied, and serve as the basis for completely spontaneous improvisations.
