Rock Memories
The Deutsche Theater presents powered by Rockmuseum Munich and Munich City Of Music
THREE EVENINGS – SIX TRIBUTE BANDS
There’s MUSIC in it this weekend – in the truest sense of the word. Together with the Rockmuseum Munich and Munich City of Music we invite you to the festival Rock Memories with a total of six tribute bands on three evenings.
LED ZEPPELIN – THE WHO – DEEP PURPLE – IRON MAIDEN – ROLLING STONES – BOB DYLAN
Z E P (Led Zeppelin), TOMMY WHO (The Who), BLACK PURPLE (Deep Purple), MAIDENHEAD (Iron Maiden), THE STARS (Rolling Stones) and DYLAN ON THE ROCKS (Bob Dylan) will be performing. In the past, the musicians of the individual formations have all thrilled the audience in the Rock Museum in the lofty heights of the Olympic Tower. As is well known, the Olympic Tower had to close its doors recently, as the tower is closed for a longer period of time for renovation after the celebrations for the 50th anniversary of the Olympics.
So now, together with the bands, we let the stage shake in our theatre hall. For a good hour each time, the tribute combos will play the hits of their chosen heroes. We’ll turn up the sound system and our stage, including lighting, will offer everything a rocker’s heart desires.
Offer for multiple rockers
Those who would like to attend not just one evening but two or all three concerts can take advantage of the offer for multiple rockers. Those who present a ticket for another Rock Memories event at the box office on the respective evening will receive a 25% discount on the purchase. The discount applies to one additional ticket per ticket presented. And on Saturday and Sunday, of course, also for tickets from Friday and Saturday that have already been validated.

Black Purple
The “best Deep Purple cover band in Germany” was the verdict of the Süddeutsche Zeitung a few years ago. And to this day, the audience gets a cross-section of songs from five decades of the British cult band. Legendary rock classics such as “Smoke on the Water” or “Child in Time” have just as much a place in Black Purple’s programme as exotic gems for the die-hard fan. Through this range, Black Purple manage to inspire a broad audience of all ages. There is probably nothing more to add to Deep Purple singer Ian Gillan’s quote about Black Purple – “I feel very honoured”. (Photo: Band)
Line-up: Thommy Schuller (vocals), Tscharlie Fuchs (bass), Klaus-Marco Klement (organ, keys), Bastian Kretschmar (git), Michael Heß (drums).
Maidenhead
Heavy metal is unthinkable without the band Iron Maiden. It forms a milestone of the genre that will forever stand heavy and iron in the sky, come what may. At this landmark, five determined people have come together and they call themselves Maidenhead! Their mission is nothing less than to show the audience why Iron Maiden is and will forever remain a living legend. Maidenhead play the songs of the cult band authentically and full of energy for the audience and with the audience, so that everyone can go on a journey together to the foundation of heavy metal! Tommy Who!
The band Tommy Who! formed in 2019 to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the rock opera Tommy. The formation has already thrilled audiences and critics alike twice with concert performances of this legendary conceptual work by The Who at the Deutsches Theater. “Breathtaking” wrote the Donaukurier and the Süddeutsche Zeitung judged: “Sensational”. As part of the Rock Memories tribute festival, the band will now present the best songs from Tommy paired with other hits by the British cult rockers. (Photo: Susanne Brill)
Line-up: Georg Kleesattel, Claudia Cane, Michael Schinkel (vocals), Martin Stellmacher (keys, vocals), Tommy Wagner (drums), Chris Hasler (git), Alex Kirmayr (git), Arno Baum (bass).
The Stars
Singer and frontman Fritz Wimmer is one of the reasons that make the concerts of this band an experience! But also the unique guitar weaving and the open tunings of the Stones songs are elementary components, which are perfectly adapted by the two guitarists Franz Schreieder and Stevie Wollony. The rhythm section with bassist Lothar Wenger and drummer Tommy Schubert is also congenial. And Howie Märkert has been proving that he is a devil of the keys for over 40 years. The group is completed by backing vocals Rebecca “Beccs” Horn and Stefan Moser as well as George Haag and Mike Winkelmeier on tenor and alto saxophone respectively. Whoever experiences The Stars live feels the myth that the Rolling Stones have been spreading for six decades. (Photo: Band)

Dylan on the Rocks
The Best of Bob Dylan! In wonderfully faithful arrangements, Dylan On The Rocks brings the master’s timeless songs to the stage just as you still remember them from your old record collections. And it goes off like a train, because after all, Dylan is not only the king of song poets, but also one of the founding fathers of rock. His grandiose classics revive the spirit of a time when music was still part of the attitude to life – a treat not only for Dylan fans, but for all friends of immortal folk and rock music. Z E P
Founded in 2005, the group has maintained its special position in the German tribute band scene for almost two decades, dedicating itself exclusively to the musical legacy of one of the greatest rock bands of all time, LED ZEPPELIN. Riffs that wrote rock history, furious solos, sound orgies with violin bow and theremin, in between soulful blues or acoustic folk ballads. Seemingly effortlessly, the boys of Z E P manage to trace the winding musical paths of their idols and conjure up the magic of their music on stage. Z E P bring this incredibly multifaceted song material live to the stage. Authentic, true to the original and with an incredible amount of feeling. (Photo: Band)
