Peter und der Wolf
A musical journey of discover
Sergei Prokofiev’s Peter and the Wolf, a classic of musical storytelling, takes center stage in this special family concert in the Silver Hall. But the Munich Chamber Opera goes further: a musical journey of discovery turns this well-known work into a new experience. A concert format that does not explain music, but makes it tangible – with ease, depth, and in a way that amazes the audience.
Special arrangements
A wind quintet not only presents Prokofiev’s masterpiece Peter and the Wolf for the whole family, but also invites the audience on a journey through the world of classical music. What does an oboe sound like? Why is the bassoon so big? How are the notes produced on a clarinet or flute? Why is the horn so loud? And what happens when they all play together? Always child-friendly, poetic, and with subtle humor.
Experience music in space
An actor narrates the concert, giving voice and form to the characters and, together with the musicians, bringing the works of the great masters to life in a sensory experience. The performance is not only for the audience, but also with them. This allows children and the young at heart to experience the various wind instruments in their own unique and moving way, transforming the enchanting fairy tale into a genuine live experience
