Folk dancing in the Silbersaal
Folk music grooves. It really does. You just have to keep your ears open, beyond the romanticism of barn dances and traditionalist constraints, and you’ll inevitably come across the Lower Bavarian musicians’ regulars’ table. This group of young musicians has been on the road since 2003. The Stammtisch plays folk dance music in the Silbersaal and enjoys seeking out people who have never had anything to do with folk music before – until now.
From Landler to Zweifache
Originally, the Lower Bavarian musicians’ get-together was exactly what it sounds like: a relaxed group of young people who got together to make music. Applied folk music in the very best sense, based on tradition but also on their own compositions. It amazes the ears and makes hearts and legs jump. The musicians are particularly fond of dances: Landler, Schottische, Dreher and – of course – the most beautiful Zwiefachen from all over the country. Always without sheet music, playing by ear. And best of all: they sing too!
Folk dancing for everyone
Folk music as casual avant-garde? Quite possible, when you see how the old East Bavarian sounds get even the most sophisticated city audiences moving. Whether it’s the waltz, polka, Zwiefache or Boarische. With professional instruction on site, by the end of this regulars’ evening at the latest, all participants will have become happy and enthusiastic folk dancers.
