Münchner Jazzsalon – Thelonious Monk
08.04.26
Eccentric and unmistakable
Claus Raible, internationally renowned jazz pianist, will perform Monk’s music with his trio and talk to Marcus Wölfle about his life and work. The eccentric Monk, along with Charlie Parker and Dizzy Gillespie, was one of the co-founders of bebop. He cultivated an idiosyncratic piano style, and his compositions are just as distinctive. His piece “Round About Midnight” became a classic and remains one of the most frequently played jazz compositions to this day.
