A literary-musical walk
What does literature sound like? And what sounds do texts have? München – lesen & hören is an encounter with creative people from “Isar-Athens” to “Wahnmoching” and today’s Munich. Join Michael Schleicher and the Ensemble Luise on a literary-musical walk through the decades of Munich’s cultural development!
Reading by Michael Schleicher
In his book “München. Lesen und lesen lassen”, author and journalist Michael Schleicher formulates a declaration of love to the world of books and delves into the cultural development of Munich based on the history of the L. Werner bookshop, which is one of the oldest in the city at more than 140 years old. After all, bookshops are much more than just places where books are sold. Their history itself tells stories.
The decades resound
Michael Schleicher will be accompanied by the Ensemble Luise, which will bring the decades to life: The journey takes the musicians and the author from the end of the 19th century through the wild 1920s to the present day. An evening in which books swing to the beat of the music, a journey through Munich past and present, a literary concert and a celebration of reading.
