MORE DETAILS
An Evening of Italian Baroque
The Ensemble Cremona Antiqua embarks on a subtle journey through 17th-century Italian vocal and instrumental music. Under the theme “I baci di Zefiro,” the program focuses on works by Claudio Monteverdi from the *Scherzi musicali* and his *Madrigal Books*. These are complemented by compositions by Barbara Strozzi, Alessandro Piccinini, Girolamo Frescobaldi, Giovanni Gabrielli, and Degli Antonii.
Sounds of the Baroque
A multifaceted spectrum of love, longing, pain, grace, and virtuosity unfolds here. At its heart is the finely tuned dialogue between soprano, cello, theorbo, and harpsichord. The Cremona Antiqua ensemble brings to life the intimate yet theatrical sound of Italian Baroque music.
