Martin Schmid – Swingtime
Evergreens and rarities
With his program Swingtime, Martin Schmid cordially invites you to experience his passion and love for swing. He sings and dances his way through an enjoyable program full of delicious, evergreen melodies and songs from a time when music was still swinging and people were still trotting the fox.
A declaration of love to swing
Experience German classics and evergreens arranged and interpreted with virtuosity, dusted off, polished up and in HD. All presented with plenty of humor and a twinkle in the eye, of course. Swing and jazz fans get their money’s worth with the rousing solos of his fabulous band, when Daniel Mark Eberhard hits the keys, Walter Bittner stirs the drums, Uli Fiedler plucks the bass and Stephan Holstein plays his way into the hearts of the guests on saxophone and clarinet.
With this declaration of love to swing, Martin Schmid shows once again that he is a master of cultivated evening entertainment. The program includes the evergreens “Mackie Messer”, “Bei mir biste scheen”, “In der Nacht ist der Mensch nicht gern allein” and “Schau mich bitte nicht so an”.
Martin Schmid
The singer and entertainer has learned from the best: as a trained jazz double bass player, he was a member of Hugo Strasser’s “Hot Five” and worked with swing legends such as Greger and Hazy Osterwald. He will now carry on their legacy for you in his own way. With programs such as Rauhnacht, Da Billi Jean is ned mei Bua or Die Leonhardsberger & Schmid Show he has already been a guest at the Silbersaal with his stage partner Stefan Leonhardsberger.
