HITS, FLIRTS & ANDERE UN-AN-NEHM-LICH-KEITEN!
Deutsches Theater München organizes
Sassy, musical, and unashamedly charming
Why does German Schlager music still exist—and who’s to blame? In her biting musical comedy show *Hits, Flirts & Other Un-an-nehm-lichkeiten!*, Sarah Barelly gets to the bottom of this very question—and doesn’t mince words. Between chart hits, “Fernsehgarten” romance, and an emotional rollercoaster ride, she exposes German Schlager in the Silbersaal for what it really is: unrestrained, catchy, and sometimes a bit embarrassing—but still a cult phenomenon.
But that’s not all: modern courtship rituals also get a good roasting—from the “morning wood in loving hands” to men’s fashion faux pas and total lapses in taste. Sarah Barelly holds up a merciless mirror to the reality of flirting and sings her way straight into the hearts (and funny bones) of her audience with a powerful voice, cheeky wit, and musical diversity. An evening of pop, rock, and poetry, somewhere between breathlessness and everyday madness, charmingly served up by a woman who says what others only think.
Warning: This show is not for the faint of heart—recommended for ages 16 and up!
