Traveling in Africa

Farin Urlaub was already traveling before he started playing music in a band. Although he is still a long way from achieving his goal of seeing the whole world, he has been drawn back to Africa time and again for several decades. Whether on his own or with a guide, on a motorcycle or in an off-road vehicle, he has visited more than 40 countries on this huge, exciting, contradictory, and absolutely fascinating continent.

Farin now wants to share the beauty, humanity, and adventure he has experienced there time and again. Not as an omniscient cultural expert, but as an enthusiastic and curious traveler who is not afraid of the unknown—on the road with his camera, functional clothing, and sunburn, searching for truth.

Good travel companion

Together with Jochen Schliemann (journalist, traveler, writer, and one half of “Reisen Reisen – Der Podcast”), Farin is going on a speaking tour and stopping off in Munich. The two want to talk openly about subjective experiences, show photos, and—at the very least—spark curiosity.
