FALCO MEETS AMADEUS
Deutsches Theater München presents an event by COFO Entertainment
Between triumph and tragedy
“Der Kommissar” is back! Falco meets Amadeus tells the visually stunning and eccentric story of two exceptional figures in music history, combining all of Falco’s greatest hits live with the exciting story of the legendary Viennese artist. The sensational stage show provides a deep insight into the thoughts and feelings of the artist and the man behind the dazzling pop icon, paying tribute to the magnificent life’s work of “Falcon.”
Between genius and madness
“I will only be immortal when I am dead!” These dark, prophetic words form the basis of this homage to the greatest genius in the history of German-language pop and rap. Falco meets Amadeus is a gripping and deeply moving musical journey through the formative stages in the life of this striking musician—a man who lived life to the fullest and went through many ups and downs, ultimately leading to his self-destruction. With over 60 million records sold and the only German-language song to date to top the American charts, Falco became the most internationally successful Austrian musician of all time alongside Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart. But there are other similarities between the two musical geniuses: both were far ahead of their time, created their own style and thus shaped the music of their era like no one else – between genius and madness.
An exceptional artist and his music
The song selection in this spectacular show experience includes all of Falco’s greatest hits, such as “Der Kommissar,” “Vienna Calling,” “Jeanny,” and “Out of the Dark,” but also includes early successes such as “Ganz Wien,” impressive titles such as ‘Emotional’ and “Coming Home,” a few unjustly forgotten songs, and the song “Europa,” which is once again highly topical today. The tribute brings the “Falcon” back to the stage and presents all the songs live with a five-piece band and an outstanding cast. The dance ensemble’s flamboyant and extravagant interludes breathe new life into the songs and round off the stage spectacle wonderfully.
