The Lightning Thief – Das Percy Jackson Musical
Deutsches Theater München presents an event organised by JTB Theaterproduktions gGmbH
Thieves in Olympus
Percy Jackson is actually a perfectly normal teenager. Or at least, that’s what he thought until now. One day, he learns the unthinkable: his father is none other than Poseidon, the Greek god of the sea. Rob Rokicki and Joe Tracz have adapted Rick Riordan’s gripping bestseller into a musical for children aged 10 and over. We are now bringing this magnificent production by the Junges Theater Bonn to Munich for the very first time.
Journey to the Underworld
So Percy is a demigod! No sooner has he arrived at Camp Half-Blood, the refuge for the children of the gods, than chaos breaks out. Zeus’s thunderbolt has been stolen, and Percy, of all people, is under suspicion. To prove his innocence and prevent a devastating war amongst the gods, Percy embarks on an epic adventure. He sets off with his friends, the satyr Grover and Annabeth, the daughter of Athena. Together, they face the monsters of mythology and must conquer the Underworld. A race against time begins …
Mythology Meets Rock
With over 180 million books sold worldwide, Percy Jackson is a global phenomenon. In his series, author Rick Riordan blends Greek mythology with modern coming-of-age drama. Driven by an energetic rock score by Rob Rokicki, Joe Tracz’s musical perfectly captures the humorous, rebellious and emotional tone of the original novels. The musical celebrated its acclaimed world premiere in New York in 2014. In 2019, it made the leap to Broadway.
