Budapester Operetten

Through his operettas such as Die Csárdásfürstin, Emmerich Kálmán became one of the most important composers of this genre in the world. Many of his works are timeless classics. With the guest performance of Die Csárdásfürstin, we are delighted to be able to continue our long-standing tradition of presenting operettas from Budapest during the summer months. 

Das Land des Lächelns is one of Franz Lehár’s works of the interwar period that is stylistically far removed from the frivolous Viennese operetta of the turn of the century. But even with this new tone, Lehár achieved worldwide success, which continues to this day, not least because of the hit song “Dein ist mein ganzes Herz”. With Land of Smiles, we are presenting a second new production by the Budapest Operetta Theater in summer 2025.
