Bayerisch-französische Soirée
Deutsches Theater München organizes
An Evening of Friendship
For over 60 years, the Bavarian capital has been fostering German-French friendship through its city partnership with Bordeaux. The Munich-Bordeaux Initiative keeps this partnership alive with regular events and activities. To mark the visit of a group of guests from the sister city, they are hosting a Bavarian-French soirée in the Silbersaal featuring theater and music.
Theater & Operetta
The Compagnie des Camaïeux was founded in Munich in 1985 on the initiative of an actress from Lyon. Since then, they have staged a French-language production from the classical repertoire every year. As part of the Soirée, the one-act play *La Paix chez soi* (Peace at Home) by Georges Courteline, starring Hélène and François Badault, directed by Françoise Höcherl. Alice Stamataki, soprano at the Bavarian State Opera in Munich, accompanied by harpist Edith Fellmann, will perform famous operetta melodies.
Trio Wellcaru
The Well family has been a fixture on the Bavarian music scene for decades. Their trademark: classical virtuosity combined with a passion for folk music and a healthy dose of humor. With their unique approach, they open up new perspectives on the classical repertoire and traditional pieces. As part of this soirée, siblings Maria and Matthias Well, accompanied by accordionist Vladislav Cojocaru, will perform as Trio Wellcaru, presenting interpretations of works by Édith Piaf, Astor Piazzolla, Charles Aznavour, Gabriel Fauré, Fritz Kreisler, Valery Gavrilin, and Johannes Brahms.
