A Weihnachtsg’schicht
Cabaret artist Amelie Diana and actor Andreas Bittl have translated Charles Dickens’ famous Christmas story “A Christmas Carol” from 1843 into Bavarian and made a scenic evening with music out of it, which they now bring to the stage for the eighth year. Sometimes humorous, sometimes contemplative, they tell the story of the cold-hearted businessman Eberhard Gschaftl, who lives in 19th century Munich. The old grump is haunted by three ghosts who confront him with his past existence, causing the decades-old walls around his heart to crumble. The story is framed by old Bavarian Christmas songs, limericks and traditional bavarian pub music with accordion and guitar. A program like Christmas itself: contemplative, soulful and drunk.
