60 Jahre Beatles in München
A Fascinating Look Back
June 24 marks the 60th anniversary of the Beatles’ legendary concerts at Circus Krone in Munich. To celebrate this anniversary, we’re presenting “All You Need Is Love,” the successful and acclaimed tribute show about the Fab Four, from July 17 to 19. As a tribute to the 1966 “Bravo Beatles Blitz Tour” and to get you in the mood for the musical’s guest performance, we’re already showcasing the photo exhibition “60 Years of the Beatles in Munich” in the Baroque Hall. Munich rock expert Herbert Hauke has opened his archives for this exhibition, offering a fascinating look back at the events of that time.
“The Beatles were there—truly and in the flesh”
June 23 and 24, 1966, are two days in Munich’s city history that Beatles fans who were there will never forget. The venerable Circus Krone Bau was shaken to its very foundations during the “Bravo Beatles Blitztournee” with two short performances by the Mop-Tops. “Beat music” was the hot sound of the era, and the kings of this wave were the Beatles. Through 23 photos from Herbert Hauke’s archive, visitors to the exhibition are transported back to those two sizzling summer days when the excitement of all Munich fans of John, Paul, George, and Ringo reached its peak. “They jumped onto the stage, and a single cry of enthusiasm burst from thousands of throats. The Beatles were there—truly and in the flesh,” wrote BRAVO after the concerts.

The special photo exhibition “60 Years of the Beatles in Munich” is open on event days when performances are taking place in the main theater or the Silbersaal, always starting one hour before the performance begins, and can be visited even without a ticket to an event. Admission to the exhibition is free. Any photo from the exhibition can be purchased for 66.00 euros and picked up at the Deutsches Theater after the exhibition ends.
